Lesson 14
“God did not create a meaningless world…”
Duh! How could All Meaning, create meaninglessness? So, what is not of God must be a dream. This little tidbit (critical though it was/is) has not been easy for this one’s little mind to grasp, let alone accept. Yet the unmistakable significance beneath the entirety of this reality of the seemingly manifest world of form, is that “God is” … And within this Is-ness that is God, is all that is, yes?
Let’s feel in together toward source for a moment, why don’t we. Okay, we’ll begin with the premise “God is love”…. Now, just breathe love in a moment. Feel it. Ahhhhhh… Breathe Presence…. Ahhh… Breathing love, releasing all form …In and out in rhythmic awareness… breathing the very presence that is Life…It is unmistakable; formless, limitless, ever-present and eternally-now…
OK, so, whatever isn’t this experience~ in actuality is not ‘real’. Rather, it is an image within the dream of impossibility; the dream of separation from Source. Right now, in this presence, can’t you sense its transparency ~
It is ever tiny aspect of the grand illusion that is being referred to here as meaningless.
All meaning lies in reality. God did not create that which God is not, so the world where there is an experience of ‘not God’ is meaningless~ for God did not create it. The world we seem to see was instituted to divert our attention from the truth of what we really are as God created… We are God’s Son; complete and healed and whole…). God did not create our personhood… so it is not real… whatever it is we think we think, or perceive in this world, are equally ‘not real’… the self concept …not real… It is all equally meaningless.
The Atonement was God’s answer to the tiny mad idea that spawned the dream of the separated and alone, indelibly placing within the Son’s mind, the perfect remembering of the truth, as well as the perfect understanding of God’s plan for salvation (Holy Spirit). We’re all familiar with it, however dimly… It is that ‘the beckoning wake-up call of love’.
Once we have heard the call and answered, we have but one choice within this world: Which guide or voice will we listen to; Love or fear? ~It is the choice for purpose; the choice to host God or play hostage to ego dictates… It is the choice for meaning or meaninglessness…
“I am responsible for what I see.
I choose the feelings I experience, and I decide
Upon the goal I would achieve.
And everything that seems to happen to me
I ask for, and receive as I have asked.”
This is my responsibility and I accept it gladly, for in it I have found all freedom and the peace of God. Somewhere, fundamentally deep within and as me, I am listening, knowing, being… always ~already~ awake…recognizing the Truth.
I love how the Course is always looping back on the main idea of cause and effect. God being cause and we, the effect ~ Ideas never leave their source. ‘God created His Sons by extending His Thought, and retaining the extension of Thought in His Mind. All His thoughts are thus perfectly united within themselves and with each other.’ (T-6.II.8: 1-2)
