“God is the Love in which I forgive…”
If I am experiencing any unease; from thinking something ‘needs to be done’ to ‘I prefer this’, to ‘I wish I or you didn’t or hadn’t…’ ~anything that doesn’t “let all things be exactly as they are”, it is a red flag, or rather a beacon of light, showing me my unforgiveness.
This is showing me what I have given reality to, through my belief in it. Therefore, it brings to my awareness that I am identifying with the belief that there could be any thing outside of my One Self in God, as God created me…
Awakening to the clarity, that it is only my Self I misunderstand, that is my business. Forgiveness is the job. It is my function. It is the key to happiness and the choice for Heaven. ~At first one perceives ‘others and oneself’, to be forgiven. Others: better or worse, people wronged and attacking, those who had done the unforgivable ~ mostly self.
It’s pretty twisted how separate-minded ones mentality is when we finally come to ask for ‘another way’ of looking at the world.
Like for instance, back when I started this conscious reevaluation of my life through ACIM; I actually thought it was some kind of loyalty to God to see myself as the “guiltiest” of all, the one that somehow should have known and acted ‘better’ than the whole of ego-kind…
It seems a bit silly, when I say it now, yes?
But this ‘special’ martyrdom was ‘reality’ for me, and a major hurdle to awakening to the true meaning of forgiveness. Like the lesson today starts out:
“God does not forgive because He has never condemned. And there must be condemnation before forgiveness is necessary. Forgiveness is the great need of this world, but that is because it is a world of illusions. Those who forgive are thus releasing themselves from illusions, while those who withhold forgiveness are binding themselves to them. As you condemn only yourself, so do you forgive only yourself.”
Joyously, I laugh at the quaint absurdity of that ‘specialness’ idol, which is only equal to all the many other idols I have sought to replace God/my Self/the Son of God with. All of them are the same. All worshiping of idols/illusions defile the Alter where God placed Himself…
Only the Alter to God/Love/Truth matters to me now… In fact, it is forgiveness; forgiveness of every single block to love’s awareness which allows me to glimpse the eternal light of love that is the only thing I am. …And you are here along with me…
What results is the reflection of love in everyone and everything seen and experienced… in accepting the Atonement for myself, through seeing my brother’s guiltlessness’.
Here’s what it says in chapter 9 of the text:
“Atonement is for all, because it is the way to undo the belief that anything is for you alone. To forgive is to overlook. Look, then, beyond error and do not let your perception rest upon it, for you will believe what your perception holds. Accept as true only what your brother is, if you would know yourself. Perceive what he is not and you cannot know what you are, because you see him falsely. Remember always that your Identity is shared, and that Its sharing is Its reality.
Ask, “Can I see only the guiltless… only innocence…Will I totally give up my rights to the “having been wronged, to feel unjustly treated, my ‘secialness’?”
There can be no compromise on this. The God’s Son is guiltless, whole and free. Not one grievance remains to taint the perfect mind that cannot be tainted. The entire construct of attack forgive is forgiven completely, or not at all. There is no attack in sinlessness. Attack was but a mistake.
Yes must mean not no. Being truly honest with myself was not easy ~ It’s amazing how one cherishes trumped-up importance.
Yet the truth beyond, which is symbolized in A Course in Miracles, sang to me the whisper of the ancient melody I longed to remember and hear and join in the chorus…
The systematic mind training of the Course allow for the necessary shedding of the skin of false identity or self-concept through the upturning of beliefs; bringing into question, every value ever held, to be seen in the light of forgiveness and correction through the miracle. It literally falls into a rhythm of all to be for-given for all. Finally, innocence is all there is see … Having is known by sharing…
GOD IS THE LOVE IN WHICH I FORGIVE…
Whenever two Sons of God meet, we are given another chance … Each encounter is a holy encounter~ As we see each other we will see ourselves. And HERE is our chance…NOW…
I look at my so-called thoughts in this life, whether seemingly inside my mind or projected out, each represents a chance to forgive: a holy encounter…
Each messenger of forgiveness is the messenger of the love of God… Thank you my brothers, who are one with me…
